Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Lead Infrastructure/Cable Technician to install, terminate, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems, including CAT5, CAT6, and Fiber Optic cables. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in cabling installation, system maintenance, and network infrastructure setups in commercial, industrial, or government environments. This role involves working on-site, ensuring high-quality installations, and adhering to safety and industry standards. Active TS/SCI clearance required. BICSI Certification required.
\n Responsibilities:Cabling Installation & Termination:Install and terminate CAT5, CAT6, and Fiber Optic cables in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.Perform labeling, routing, and dressing of cables in racks, patch panels, and cable trays.Use hand tools and specialized equipment for cutting, stripping, and terminating cables.Testing & Troubleshooting:Conduct cable testing using tools such as cable certifiers, OTDR, and light meters.Identify and resolve connectivity or performance issues in network cabling systems.Ensure all cabling meets or exceeds customer and industry requirements (e.g., TIA/EIA standards).Infrastructure Setup:Install and secure cable pathways, including conduits, raceways, and cable trays.Mount and install racks, patch panels, and equipment enclosures.Work with both low-voltage and high-density fiber optic cabling systems.Compliance & Safety:Follow safety guidelines and OSHA standards during installations.Adhere to company policies and industry standards for cabling practices and quality assurance.Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.Documentation & Reporting:Maintain accurate records of installations, including cable routes and connection points.Create and update project documentation, such as as-built drawings and test reports.Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients to ensure project alignment.
