JOB SUMMARY: The Lead, Leave and Disability, oversees and administers the daily operations of Leave Administration, PTO, and Life Insurance.
This role leads investigations, resolves complex issues, liaises with benefits providers, recommends program improvements, monitors leave administration, and provides customer service.
It also offers analytical and technical support for all leave benefits programs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Administer and counsel management and team members on benefit programs, policies, and procedures; ensure compliance with ADA, HIPAA, FMLA, and other relevant laws.
Oversee Leave Administration for US Shoreside, Pride of America, and Shipboard officers, ensuring timely and accurate processing of FMLA, STD, and LTD requests.
Manage the ADA Accommodation request process for US team members.
Administer the leave accrual process in HRIS, monitor intercompany transfers, investigate exceptions, and ensure accurate enrollment.
Ensure compliance of company leave programs with federal and state laws.
Oversee submission and management of Life insurance documents, including EOI and Life claims.
Manage NCLH Family Care benefits, including Family Planning and Adoption reimbursement claims.
Oversee time entry for US team members on leave, ensuring accurate biweekly payments.
Manage the POA Vacation payout process biweekly.
Oversee Shipboard Officer Death and Disability programs and payments.
Participate in the review, development, and modification of department procedures and automated systems, and provide input on operating policies related to Leave of Absence, Disability, and PTO.
Assist in the implementation of new carriers and products, system setup, and benefit business processes.
Contribute to the development of long-range objectives for Leave benefit programs with the benefits team.
Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor Degree
FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or related field of study; or any relevant equivalent work experience, training, skills and/or certifications.
EXPERIENCE: 4 years of progressive Benefits experience.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS: In-depth understanding of ADA, HIPAA, FMLA, and other relevant federal and state laws.
Familiarity with leave administration processes and best practices.
Strong analytical skills for monitoring and improving benefits programs.
Excellent communication skills to counsel management and team members.
Effective liaison skills for working with benefits providers and resolving team member concerns.
Superior organizational skills to oversee multiple programs and processes.
Strong time management skills to ensure timely processing of leave requests and payments.
Strategic thinking for recommending program improvements and developing long-range objectives.
Meticulous attention to detail for ensuring compliance and accuracy in leave accrual, time entry, and benefits processing.
