$51.877 - $66.938 - $81.999 The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicants years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will DoUnder the direction of the Manager/Supervisor is responsible for directing day-to-day activities of the department; supervision of the technical and support staff. To perform a wide variety of technical procedures with quality patient care, assisting physicians as needed. The lead Mammography Technologist is responsible for MQSA & ACR Accreditation, State of California requirements, assisting with management function of the department, managing PenRad Mammography module to include statistics and tracking, assisting with day to day activities, and assisting with evaluations, competencies and orientation for mammography technologists. The lead shall provide technical support, expertise and professional judgment required to support the mission and goal of Sharp HealthCare. Our mission is to offer quality care and services that set community standards, exceed patients expectations and are provided in a caring, convenient, cost effective and accessible manner.Required Qualifications Satisfactory completion of formal training program in an AMA approved school and meets the requirement of an appropriate State and/or Federal mandated certification or equivalent.Certified Mammography (M)(ARRT) - ARRT -REQUIREDCertified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) - CA Department of Public Health -REQUIREDAHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIREDPreferred Qualifications 1 Year Supervisory experience.2 Years Technical experience.ARRT Certificate - ARRT -PREFERREDMQSA survey experience is highly desirableEssential Functions Assures and produce high quality examsEnsures optimal image QA, performs procedures according to department protocol.Understands and applies appropriate imaging techniques and demonstrates specified annual competencies.Positions according to department imaging protocolsLabels and identifies studies correctly using legal documentation.Uses imaging equipment proficientlyUses imaging agents (contrast) according to protocolDemonstrates initiativeAssures daily staffing levels are appropriate for workload and quality patient care needs.Assist monitoring day-to-day activities of Imaging personnel to ensure efficient staff productivity.Ensures that patient flow within the department is constant and organized.Ensures supplies are available, ordered and stored appropriately.Problem-solves to promote positive relationships with internal and external customers.Facilitates referring physicians requests.Ensures adequate inventory and equipment maintenance in the department.Maintains professional and positive atmosphere in the department.Human resource managementTimely completion of staff schedules.Provides input to manager/supervisor/ops coordinator on hiring and promotion decisions, corrective actions, coaching and counseling.Provides input for performance appraisals and competencies (new hire and annual/ongoing)Ensures lunch and break relief is provided to all staff.Communicates pertinent issues to the manager/ops coordinator/supervisor on a timely basis.Supports development of technical/student staffActs as a resource to staff and physiciansPatient and family educationProvides pre and post procedure education and reassurance to include but not limited to: What the procedure is, how long it is going to take, physician involved, contrast administration and mode of delivery, positioning, instructions related to procedure, the report, patient satisfaction form, etcInteracts and communicates in a manner to reflect an understanding of the patients age, culture, state of health, level of comprehensionCommunicates and interacts with the patients family in a way that is perceived positive and supportive while maintaining patient confidentiality.Quality assuranceVerifies patient identification and pregnancy statusImplements safe, efficient and therapeutic carePerforms proper procedure on proper patientDemonstrates knowledge of universal precautionsObserves the patient, reports any changes in status, and initiates appropriate action to ensure a positive outcome. Follows patients Advanced Directive.Maintains strict patient confidentiality, keeps work discussion professional and limited to private areasRegulatory complianceStay current on regulatory requirements, gather information and assists inspector.Ensures all exams are completed properly and all images are accounted for by the end of the shift.Verify physicians written order and assures appropriate clinical indication of ordered exams.Begin exams in Radiology Information System (RIS).Accurately complete exams in RIS, filling out appropriate information (contrast, fluoroscopy time, QC, resource, technical modifiers, technologist/student/RN/Radiologist).Provide correct coding of exams, billing modifiers, and supplies.Depart patient in RIS when appropriate.Ensure images are properly labeled.Ensure paperwork is filed appropriately.Regulatory requirementsManage mammography module and ensure that all follow up is completed.Prepare for annual inspection of MQSA, ACR, or CMS.Maintain ACR Accreditation.
