Summary/Objective
The Lead Medical Assistant will provide direct oversight to the dermatology nursing team at their assigned location.
Responsibilities include management of workflow, compliance with all regulatory standards, company policy and procedures.
This position is a point person for concerns relating to the day to day operations of the clinical side of the practice.
They work collaboratively with Providers, Medical Assistants, Front Desk staff, Office Managers and patients.
Essential Functions
Adheres to the Water's Edge Mission Statement, Credo and Service Goals and Values providing exceptional customer service at all times.
Manages assigned staffing to fulfill provider and patient needs serving as the liaison between clinical staff and providers.
Monitors patient flow in real time to ensure lowest possible wait times.
Orders and maintains clinical supplies.
Evaluates performance of staff members, including coaching and performance management processes.
Encourages and supports process improvements which promote fiscal responsibility and improved patient care.
Assumes responsibility for patient flow processes.
Strategizes to improve the efficiency and eliminate barriers that impact patient care.
Troubleshoots patient and staff issues.
Is responsible for patient satisfaction and complaint resolution.
Performs Clinical Assistant tasks as needed to ensure excellent patient care.

Leads team of Medical Assistants to accomplish common tasks in a collegial manner.
Assists in the training of new staff as needed.
Implements current and updated policies and procedures with their clinical staff.
Keeps log books up to date and serves as representative for the company to health inspectors.
Ensures the timely response to all voicemails and other triage.
Performs monthly quality Assessment of the office.
Ensures OSHA and Bio-waste policies are followed.
Works well in a team environment to accomplish common tasks in a collegial manner.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position supervises the nursing staff at their assigned location.
Work Environment
This job operates in a healthcare setting.
This role requires regular walking to various locations around the practice.
This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses or possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 20 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time position in a healthcare facility which is open during business hours Monday through Saturday, 52 weeks per year.
On time and regular attendance including work during inclement weather and will be required.
This position may also require over time hours to be worked to accommodate patients' schedules.
Travel
Travel between Water's Edge practice locations is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
Registered Medical Assistant Certificate
LPN or RN preferred
1-2 years medical office management experience preferred
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Must be able to work well independently but ask for help when needed
Must have an understanding of dermatology office protocol and procedures
Must have the ability to use applicable technology and systems
Must have the ability to effectively lead a team of Medical Assistants
