We are seeking a dedicated and experienced team Lead to join the team at our primary plant.
Position Overview: The Lead at our primary plant will assist the Pit Supervisor during daily operations, ensuring the efficient and safe production of aggregate materials. This role involves leading a team of operators, maintaining equipment, and promoting a safe work environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive experience in the aggregate industry, and a proven track record of promoting a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities: Support the Pit Supervisor in coordinating the activities of plant operators and ground staff in the Primary Plant.Assist Pit Supervisor with ensuring adherence to production schedules and optimizing plant efficiency.Monitor plant equipment and performance, identifying and addressing issues in collaboration with the Pit Supervisor.Promote safe work habits by adhering to company safety policies/procedures, ensure PPE is used as required, and immediately notify management of any unsafe conditions or behaviors.Assist primary plant personnel in performing daily workplace inspections, as well as crusher and conveyor checks, while accurately documenting maintenance issues to reduce downtime and maintain optimal performance.Communicate material and supply needs for the Primary Plant to the Pit Supervisor. Assist plant management in inventory control practices.Collaborate with management team to plan and execute maintenance schedules and upgrades.Provide training and mentorship to new and existing team members.Other duties as required.Experience and Skills:Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the aggregate industry, 2-3 years in a leadership role required.Strong knowledge of quarry plant operations, plant equipment i.e., conveyors, feeders, screens and jaw/cone crushers.Strong knowledge in general maintenance practices, such as welding, cutting, and grinding.Proven leadership and team management skills.Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.Ability to pass required background check and drug test.Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb and crouch for extended periods.Benefits: Competitive pay based on experience.Health, dental, vision and life insurance.401(k) plan with company match.Paid time off and holidays.Production Bonus.Opportunities for professional development and advancement.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
