Lead Senior Employee Relations Consultant Location Hybrid remote in Raleigh, NC : What You'll Be Doing This position is 95-98% remote. We are searching for a Lead Senior Employee Relations Consultant who understands that effective solutions come from collaborative team efforts. The Employee Relations Team (#TeamFoodie) is a group who enjoy all things food. Along with sharing recommendations for local restaurants, we also share insight and experience (both past and current) on employment law topics to ensure that we are always providing the best advice and guidance so that all employees enjoy a safe and fair working environment. The Lead Senior ER Consultant provides expert level consultation and guidance on disciplinary actions, grievances, performance management, conflict resolution, ADA, unemployment, County policies, and state and federal employment laws. This superhero will serve as the escalation point for routine employee relations concerns, review actions and provide feedback and guidance to ER team members. The Lead also serves as the back up to the Employee Relations Manager. The Lead Senior ER Consultant's day includes: Proactively identifying and analyzing associated risks involved in specific employment situations and provides collaborative recommendations, identifying risk/reward strategies Conducting Title VII related investigations Analyzing ER data and performing compliance risk assessments; and identifying/recommending new and creative solutions About Our Team Through strategic partnership with County leadership, the Human Resources Department provides collaborative, innovative human resource programs and services that are customer-driven and results-oriented. This is a new position, expanding the capacity of the Employee Relations Team. Wake County Human Resources has consistently low turnover, confirming that we are a great place to work! The Basics (Required Education and Experience) Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field Four years of experience in human resources administration Equivalent education and experience will be considered Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) Five or more years of professional experience in employee relations Relevant professional training and/or certifications such as PHR or SPHR, IPMA-CP or IPMA-SCP, mediation Professional experience working for local or state government Experience serving in a senior or lead role How Will We Know You're 'The One'?
