About the role:
WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Warehouse Lean Manufacturing Engineer to join our team here in Duluth.
This role is responsible for analyzing, developing, and implementing lean manufacturing processes within the warehouse.
You will also focus on improving operational efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing productivity through the application of lean principles and methodologies.
Primary Responsibilities: Lean Implementation: Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize warehouse processes and improve operational efficiency. Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement within the warehouse operations and develop strategies to address inefficiencies. Value Stream Mapping: Conduct value stream mapping to analyze and visualize the flow of materials and information within the warehouse. Kaizen Events: Lead and participate in Kaizen events to foster a culture of continuous improvement. 5S Implementation: Implement and maintain 5S practices to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment. Standard Work: Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse processes to ensure consistency and quality. Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of lean initiatives and make data-driven decisions. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain, to align lean initiatives with overall business objectives. Project Management: Manage lean projects from conception through implementation, ensuring timely completion and achieving desired outcomes. Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the progress and impact of lean initiatives. Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, or Industrial Technology, or a related field. Knowledge / training: Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in lean tools and techniques (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping).
Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Detail-oriented, self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the manufacturing environment.
