About the Program:
The Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics at CSU Channel Islands seeks to cultivate a learning environment that fosters excellence in business and economics education to prepare students to effectively engage with the ever-changing dynamics of organizational landscapes.Faculty members in the Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics follow a teacher/scholar model in accordance with AACSB standards.
About the Position:
The MVS School of Business and Economics is seeking applications for temporary faculty to prepare and teach multiple sections of a Business Communication course at the undergraduate level in the 2024-2025 academic year.
Minimum Degree Requirements:
Masters degree with a focus in Business, Communication, or a related discipline.
Required Qualifications:
The minimum degree requirements above;

Demonstrated preparation for teaching Business Communication at a university level;

Applicants should demonstrate the commitment to effectively work with and engage a diverse student population and evidence of how they would successfully mentor minoritized students with special focus on Latinx, Black/African American, American Indian, and Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander students.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Business, Communication, or in a related discipline;
5+ years full-time work experience;
Work/consulting experience in private or public sector related to Business Communications;
A record of effective teaching

Responsibilities:

Teach one or more classes as assigned and as student demand allows. Conduct and turn in assessment activities as outlined each semester.

Placement into a range is based on qualifications and experience. Initial assignments are typically at the bottom third of the salary range. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.
