Lecturer, General Education UCLA Cluster Program - Never-ending Stories: Multidisciplinary Perspectives on Myth (Fairy Tales) University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: JPF05344 Recruitment Period Open February 27th, 2020 through Saturday, Mar 28, 2020 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Description The UCLA Undergraduate Education Initiatives unit seeks a lecturer for Spring Quarter (AY 2019-20) to teach a seminar as part of the General Education UCLA Cluster Program. This position includes developing and teaching a seminar course for freshman students with varied backgrounds focusing on a topic related to mythological traditions, aspects of storytelling, the roles of myth in culture, society, and/or art. Specifically, the seminar should engage with multiforms of traditional fairy tales, especially to explore their transmission and translation into modern cultural products. This position will involve working closely with students on their writing. UCLA has a diverse student population in one of the more diverse cities in the nation; we particularly seek candidates who have taught similarly diverse students in a major research university.
