Job Summary This position calls for an enthusiastic educator and experienced nursing practitioner who can demonstrate a dedicated commitment to learning, teaching, and knowledge transfer with undergraduate ASN students at Georgia Southwestern State University. This position may also require teaching an additional course for BSN students when needed.
The faculty member actively participates in program and curriculum development, evaluation, and revision; student progression and retention; course planning, implementation, and evaluation, supervision of skills/simulation experience, clinical instruction; and evaluation of student achievement including formative and summative evaluation.
Responsibilities Primary responsibilities includes:
Preparing and teaching courses as scheduled under the supervision of the Undergraduate Associate Dean Taking responsibility for ensuring the quality of teaching methodologies and evaluation of faculty teaching in the Associate Degree of Science in Nursing. Being available for consultation with students and guiding students outside of the class regarding academic issues. Reporting grades, attendance, evaluation forms, and other information per university and School of Nursing directives. Additional responsibilities will include engagement in meaningful service and scholarship, with the exact mix of responsibilities dependent upon level of appointment and in accordance with the mission of GSW and the School of Nursing. Development and delivery of online courses may be included in teaching assignments.
Required Qualifications Must have a minimum of Master's of Science in Nursing degree Must possess and maintain unencumbered nursing licensure in the state of Georgia Must have recent, verifiable experience in nursing Preferred Qualifications Expertise in adult acute care Recent experiences in acute care Doctorate in nursing Experience in nursing education Required Documents to Attach Cover letter Evidence of Teaching Effectiveness (if available).
