THE POSITION
Porter Law Firm is seeking a legal admin assistant to help support our HOA division with data entry, litigation, and general administrative duties.
The legal assistant will receive direction and tasks from the firm's attorneys and other legal assistants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS
Attention to detail with the ability to manage large amounts of data
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
Conducting research, data entry, and client communications
Answer phones, return messages, manage deadlines
Type and file basic legal documents and correspondence
Preparing and filing documents with courts
Organizing and archiving the documents related to completed and ongoing cases including exhibits, documents, briefs, and appendices
Aid attorneys with interrogatories, requests for production, and other discovery requests
Assist in trial preparation by preparing binders, indexing discovery, and preparing trial exhibits
DESIRED QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Proficient with MS Office
Able to maintain a full-time, in-person working schedule
Associate's degree or greater
1-3+ years experience
Keen eye for detail and ability to meet deadlines
Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities under deadlines
Strong writing and communication skills with extreme attention to detail
Approachable, customer service mentality
Applicable knowledge of legal terms, procedures, and protocols
Must be able to sit, stand, navigate stairs, occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
