Job Description:
Our client is hiring a Legal Assistant. The main function of this legal support role is to assist lawyers by preparing legal documents. Responsibilities: Provide attorneys with secretarial and administrative assistance by preparing correspondence and legal documents, including summonses, complaints, motions, responses, discovery and subpoenas for attorney review. Maintain a calendaring system. Assist attorneys in all aspects of case handling from inception of case through trial preparation. Open, organize and maintain up-to-date filings on all legal documents and case files. Prepare closed legal files for off-site storage shipments and logs. Process vendor invoices, make travel arrangements and submit expense reports for attorneys. Enter attorneys daily billable time, generate monthly invoices for all legal cases and run data reports in Sage Timeslips. Upload attorney prepared narrative case budgets, submit monthly invoices for payment and monitor remaining funds in TyMetrix 360. Work effectively as a team within the major claims litigation office. Interface with management, facilities and technology personnel. Requirements: 3+ years of experience working as a legal secretary or assistant Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and maintain professionalism under pressure Basic knowledge of legal court procedures, Federal and state court systems, court rules, and e-filings Ability to navigate and effectively manage litigation office files and case management systems Expertise in the Microsoft Office with proficient knowledge of Excel and Adobe Knowledge of legal professional service organizations, as well as legal secretarial and administrative practices and functions Contact:
