Butler & Associates, P.A., a fast-paced, high-volume law firm, is looking for a full-time legal assistant. Experience in civil litigation preferable. Duties include keeping matters confidential; calendaring & maintaining deadlines and attorney calendars; drafting pleadings; preparing and e-filing documents; entering information accurately and efficiently in our database; establishing and maintaining good working relationships with clients, court personnel and other parties; and other duties as assigned. This is an in-person position. Required skills & qualifications: Organized and able to prioritize; High School diploma or GED is required. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred; Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work-related issues, problems, or opportunities; Great communication skills, including spelling and grammar, along with email and phone etiquette; Able to work independently and multi-task; Knowledge of federal and state electronic filing requirements; Understand and apply state laws that relate to each file or case; Maintain daily tasks to move claims and cases towards resolution; Prepare required correspondence, legal pleadings, and other related documents; Maintain account confidentiality and private personal information; Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, and Adobe PDF; and Typing speed greater than 50 wpm. Experience in a legal office and/or experience in the insurance industry is preferred.
