Legal Assistant
Nassau County - ( Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days remote)
We are seeking a Legal Assistant with 5 years of law firm experience to join our team. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. This role requires a team player who can collaborate effectively, manage competing priorities, and work independently when needed.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Support multiple attorneys by managing their daily tasks, adapting to their unique needs and priorities.
- Draft, edit, format, and proofread legal documents, including contracts, agreements, complaints, motions, and pleadings.
- File documents electronically with courts (ECF/NYSCEF/AAA).
- Manage attorneys' calendars, scheduling meetings, calls, and Zoom sessions.
- Open new matters, prepare retainer agreements, and update related documents.
- Enter case progress data for No-Fault matters in Time Matters.
- Track attorney billable hours using iTimekeep.
- Provide general administrative support (answering phones, scanning, copying, submitting expenses via Chrome River).
Requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Fast typing speed (55 WPM) with advanced Word skills.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a team and independently.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes.
Monday-Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM (Hybrid: Minimum 3 days in office, 2 days remote).
