This is a unique opportunity for pre-law majors seriously thinking about going to law school to get in-depth exposure and experience working in a Mercedes-Benz Research and Development legal department, at the intersection of automotive and technology legal issues. We strongly prefer students contemplating law school.
\n Job Responsibilities:Students will work with attorneys on a variety of projects, including but not limited to emerging technologies, intellectual property, regulatory enforcement, open source, data privacy, AI, employment, litigation and commercial contracting. Projects include performing research, drafting memos, preparing presentations or summaries, participating in discussions and interfacing with business and engineering teams on emerging legal issues. The ideal candidate possesses the following characteristics: passionate about technology, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving real world problems, eager to learn, able to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse group of professionals (engineers, business professionals and lawyers) and tech savvy (quick learner) with tools and apps. Eligibility – This is an unpaid internship, where academic credit is required and obtained from your school's internship program. A minimum of 20 hours/week required (flexible on work hours to accommodate student classes); hybrid work environment (need to be in the office according to business needs). In order to be a valuable internship experience, there is a 2 academic quarters commitment. Minimum Qualifications:Undergraduate Upper Division College Student0-2 years of relevant work experience
