Position: Legal Coordinator
Hours of Work: Full-Time, Non-exempt

In This Role, You Will… Facilitate the legal process and collections on accounts for assigned territory or state(s). You will work directly with employees of our branches and company approved collection attorneys to provide information on open and charged-off accounts, and ensure prompt follow-up of legal collection activity. This position will require you to build effective relationships with both external parties and internal customers, and ensure error-free documentation and correspondence for all assigned accounts.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties: Review, prepare, and update legal files such as affidavits, judgements, loan information, court documents, etc., ensuring all documentation is error free and timely. Manage assigned communication channels, ensuring efficient and accurate communication with branch staff and attorneys. Provide direction and information to assigned attorneys, and provide regular status updates to branch teams on all legal accounts in process Review and analyze account settlement payment plans for loss impact, make recommendations and negotiate for best outcome and resolution. Review attorney invoices for accuracy and ensure timely payment. Maintain assigned legal files and logs through regular internal auditing, communication, and action as needed. Identify and recommend process/workflow improvement measures as needed. Maintain and update effective calendar and organization methods for collection of delinquent accounts. prevent or limit losses to the company on collection accounts Strictly comply with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Maryland Debt Collection Act, Privacy provisions of the federal and state laws, Confidential Financial Record law of the State of Maryland, and all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness (i.e., Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.) Report pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested or according to an established schedule; compile information as necessary or as directed and provide data to appropriate bank personnel. May perform additional functions depending on market demand and staffing in order to provide consistent quality customer service. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one (1) years of experience in a customer service position, with responsibility for customer satisfaction and problem resolution. Prior demonstrated experience delivering high quality and accurate documentation. Strong interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with outside counsel, customers, and all levels of company staff. Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to pay close attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to be flexible and pivot among responsibilities while maintaining high-quality work. Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to move about. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty (20) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
