Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP's Houston, TX office is actively seeking a Legal Practice Assistant to support its transactional attorneys.
Duties will include a combination of practice support and administrative responsibilities.


RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide outstanding client service through email, telephonic and in-person communications with clients.
Proofreading and reviewing all written work, including correspondence, memos and transaction documents for content, context, and typos.
Prepare documents for client review and signature.
Manage transaction software or learn new software, such as DocuSign.
Schedule meetings and conference rooms.
Assist attorneys with compliance with firm billing and timekeeping requirements.
Review and edit client bills to ensure conformance with client billing requirements.
Manage conflicts checks, new client matter openings, and engagement and waiver letters.
Maintain attorneys' bar and professional memberships.
Manage attorneys' travel portfolios, including making travel arrangements, maintain travel profiles, and calendar travel.
Handle expense reimbursements.
Perform other duties required based upon the unique practice of the attorney, such as, but not limited to, administrative work, practice development initiatives, and committee projects and responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS: Strong technical skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
College degree and minimum of seven years related experience with big law and/or corporate legal department.
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and to demonstrate the highest level of client service and response.
Organized and detail oriented.
Understands deadlines and possesses a sense of urgency.
Independent worker, ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner.
Demonstrates ability to communicate in a proficient, tactful, and confident manner with external clients and coworkers.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
Punctual and reliable.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with electronic document management systems.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.


COMPENSATION: $62,000-104,000 is the estimated salary range for this role in Houston, TX.
Starting salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
