Role The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring Phoenix Aviation Limited (PAL) operates safely and is maintained in accordance with applicable manuals, company procedures, policies, and CARs with the highest degree of safety. The role reports to Head of Base Maintenance (HOBM).
Key Responsibilities Carry out and certify maintenance and repair on Aircraft & Aircraft components.Effectively control tools, equipment, parts, consumables, controlling test and measuring equipment owned by the company, are maintained in serviceable condition to support line operations.Determine and request spare parts and materials for tasks.Provide notification and written reports of incidents and/or accidents which may result in personnel injury or damage to equipment or property.Develop technicians for increased efficiency and perform the requirements of On-job instructor as needed.Record accurately all maintenance actions including man-hours in accordance with the KCAA requirements and PAL engineering procedures. Ensure all documentation is in place and signed before issuing a Certificate of Release to service.Be conversant with the requirements of Maintenance Procedures Manual, CARS, approved Schedules, Manufacturers Manual, and Airworthiness Notices.And any other responsibilities as specified by the management.Qualifications Degree/Diploma in aeronautical engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution with over 8 years of work experience in aircraft maintenance.Be a holder of a KCAA TYPE II aircraft maintenance engineer license with a current authorization/rating on the Q400 and/or ratings on light aircraft (GA) and piston engines. Light aircraft include the Cessna 100/200 and Piper series aircraft. Piston engines sorted include the Textron Lycoming IO-320, 360, 540 and Teledyne Continental Motors IO-470, 520 and 550 engine series.Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of at least 3 years experience in releasing these engines and airframes back to service after scheduled maintenance.Any additional ratings/authorizations common to the Phoenix aviation fleet will be an added advantage.The applicant must demonstrate currency of type trainings for a minimum of one year on aircraft and engine types advertised.Key Competences Ability to work overtime and travelling (away from base maintenance may be required).Good communication and interpersonal skills.Co-operative and process oriented.Honest and reliable team player.Compliance driven and ability to take timely actions.Attention to details and ability to take initiative while working under pressure.Please send your application and Resume, referring to the position applied to on the email subject to ******** to be received by 1700hrs on 25th October 2023.
