Avatar Residential Detox & Recovery Center in New Jersey offers inpatient rehabilitation, detox, outpatient services, medication-assisted treatment, specialty therapy options, and co-occurring disorder treatments tailored to individual needs.
*Purpose: *
The Clinician plays a pivotal role in our patient care activities, performing a wide variety of tasks as directed by the Clinical Director.
This includes managing a patient caseload, providing group and individual therapy, and conducting psychosocial and bio-psychosocial assessments.
The Clinician's collaboration with the Treatment Team to formulate the Master Treatment Plan and assist in coordinating discharge planning is crucial.
They also have primary responsibility for maintaining communication with the family, referral source, and other service providers as needed.
*Specific Responsibilities: *
* Determines the appropriate level of care according to ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) Patient Placement Criteria.Facilitates co-occurring groups and education about mental health diagnoses.
* Collaborates with clients to develop a recovery treatment plan.
* Provides substance abuse and mental health counseling services specified in the client treatment plan.
* Engages clients, builds rapport, and increases readiness and commitment to change with motivational interviewing (MI) techniques.
* Provides excellent individual and group therapy to assigned clients following the program curriculum provided by Clinical
* Uses motivational enhancement techniques, including discussing continued challenges and consequences of continued substance use behaviors, as well as benefits associated with stopping or reducing substance use.
* Provides active case consultation.
* Continues special training in areas designated by the Supervisor.
* Maintains full client caseload and documentation of accountability procedures that require verification of interventions.
* Assesses the counseling needs of the clients.
* Obtains previous records that are relevant to the current treatment episode.
* Develop, monitor, and provide the client and treatment team with a written schedule for updating each client's treatment plan(s) to ensure clients' needs are met.
* Review clients throughout the treatment episode according to the ASAM Criteria to determine whether they need continued services, transfer, or discharge/transfer.
* Completes all required documentation, ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures, state regulations, Joint Commission standards, and Medical.

* Provides a safe and therapeutic environment to all staff and patients
* Communicates significant patient developments to the Supervisor

* Pursues professional development through participation in education and training programs
* Help assist as needed when the Administrator is not available.
*Qualifications:*
* Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.
* NJ state license(s): LAC, LSW
* Experience with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring disorders.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
