Reporting to the Clinical Director or Clinical Unit Leader, performs as a member of the Patient Care Team.
Performs patient care tasks delegated by and under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, treat, and provide care appropriate to the age(s) of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.

1.
Provides patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and in accordance with the State of IL Nurse Practice Act based upon the developmental stages of the patient: Assists RN in patient care activities and tasks, as delegated.
Administers medications as delegated by the RN and within their scope of practice.

Collects and documents patient monitoring data.
Observes, documents, and reports changes in patient's condition/environment to the RN.
Documents changes in existing Care Plan after collaboration with RN.

Communicates effectively with patients, and members of the health care team.
Conveys information regarding patient care needs to appropriate health care team members.
Interacts positively and therapeutically with patients and family members based upon the developmental stages of the patient.

Shares responsibility for care and maintenance of equipment and supplies on unit.
5.
Participates in and supports continuous quality improvement activities.
6.
Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
