Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) provide care to an underserved population of inmate patients. Correctional nursing is a diverse setting where you will manage acute, emergency, community health, psychiatric, and palliative care. LPNs deliver care utilizing the nursing assessment protocols in assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform and complete assessments in various settings. Collaborate with providers and health care team to ensure continuity of care. Promote a therapeutic environment to ensure inmates are treated in a professional, ethical, and tactful manner. Provide patient education and discharge planning. QUALIFICATIONS: Current, unrestricted LPN license to practice in the same state as the facility. At least 1 year of RN experience in correctional healthcare preferred. A current CPR/BLS card with demonstrated cognitive skills is required. Must meet security clearance requirements. Required Skills: Excellent critical thinking and assessment skills. Assertive, empathetic, and able to provide care objectively. Microsoft proficient. Experience in working with Electronic Health Records.
