Job Description:
The State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill (SUNY Cobleskill) is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated professional to fill the position of Licensed School Psychologist and Student Empowerment Coordinator (LSPSEC). This role is essential in broadening the reach of our disabilities office, proactively addressing barriers to student learning, and empowering students in their learning abilities.
The two central focuses of this role are to utilize state-of-the-art tools to identify issues and develop strategies to assist students who experience learning difficulties. The LSPSEC will also educate the SUNY Cobleskill community on the principles of the Universal Design Learning (UDL) model to create accessible learning environments.
POSITION DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMPETENCIES: Co-develop a comprehensive UDL approach with the Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) and the Student Support Services unit.Conduct assessments to provide students with knowledge of their learning abilities.Assist students in adopting proactive learning strategies.Collect data and monitor progress on identified metrics.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Current NYS Permanent Certificate as a School Psychologist.Five or more years of experience within a school setting.Experience working cross-culturally with a diverse clientele/student body.A commitment to a primary prevention wellness and Universal Design model.Application Instructions:
