General Summary
Performs selected nursing and administrative / clerical duties that assist in and contribute to patient care management; these duties are delegated in relation to the degree of training and in accordance with state laws governing such activities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1.
Performs physical assessments of patients.
2.
Screens incoming patients
3.
Pre-certification and scheduling of hospital procedures.
4.
Assists physicians in examinations.
5.
Performs basic medical treatment under supervision.
6.
Patient triage.
7.
Maintains medical area safety, cleanliness and stocking of required supplies.
8.
Observes and charts vital signs of patients.
9.
Administers and charts medications and treatments as prescribed.
10.
Provides excellent customer service and the highest quality patient care.
11.
Follows all OSHA and other safety guidelines.
12.
Maintains current licensure and/or certification required by the job..
13.
At all times protects the confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) of patients per
HIPAA regulations; including does not review his/her own record, or records of employees or co-workers without a "need to know".
14.
Actively demonstrates teamwork at all times.
15.
Adheres to company safety standards at all times, such that no serious (requiring medical
attention) injury occurred during the prior 12-month period.
16.
Follows other policies and procedures such that there are no verbal or written warnings during the evaluation period.
17.
Attends work in accordance with the attendance management policy.
18.
Completes education requirements timely as set by the Company.
19.
Performs all other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1.
High school diploma or accredited GED equivalent.
2.
Graduate of accredited LVN program.
3.
At least two years of practical experience, preferably in a cardiology practice.
4.
Currently licensed as an LVN in the state of Texas.
5.
Fluently speaks, reads, and writes English.
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
6.
Current CPR certification.
7.
Professional understanding of OSHA requirements in a clinical setting
8.
Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
9.
Is able to be present at work during the scheduled hours and days of the job, in
accordance with the Company's Attendance policy
Work Environment
1.
Long periods of standing or sitting.
2.
Normal range of hearing, voice, and vision to perform work and communication.
3.
Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g.
use of computer keyboard).
4.
Ability to travel to off-site clinics.
5.
Busy, complex office environment requiring detailed, focused attention.
6.
Normal office environment with minimal discomfort due to noise, temperature or dust
7.
Ability to meet physical demands of the job which include, but are not limited to: standing,
bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, transporting supplies or equipment, walking for extended periods of time, and occasionally lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying items which may weigh up to 40 pounds.
8.
Vision (including the discernment of color) and hearing must be within or correctable to
within normal ranges.
9.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job description with or without
