Lighting Designer

Details of the offer

Serving as a consultant to the sales team regarding lighting design and services.
Working in Vectorworks to design lighting systems and create all required technical plans under the supervision of the Lighting Director.
Working in Vectorworks to create 2D and 3D drawings to include all production elements under the direction of Account Executives, Lighting Director, and Production Managers.
Advance lighting details with Production Managers, artists, venues, freelancers, and potentially clients in certain cases.
Serving as lighting programmer on FROST events as needed.
Serving as master electrician on FROST events as needed.
Serving as a Lighting Technician on FROST events as needed.
Directing and working with the lighting department warehouse staff to prepare orders prior to shipping.
Utilizing the R2 software to proactively solve gear conflicts, place cross-rental orders, and source lighting gear required for upcoming shows.
Work with the Lighting Director to institute new efficiencies, procedures, and protocols where appropriate.
RequirementsBasic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Lighting Design, Theatre Production, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.Proficiency in Vectorworks, with experience creating detailed 2D and 3D drawings for lighting and event design.Ability to operate lighting consoles including Grand MA3 and Hog4.Strong knowledge of lighting systems, equipment, and technologies.Experience with lighting programming, rigging, and technical setup.Familiarity with R2 software or similar gear management tools.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Flexibility to work on-site for FROST events and manage multiple tasks efficiently.Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree or certification in Lighting Design, Theatre Production, or a related field.Extensive experience with Vectorworks, including advanced features and custom configurations.Proven track record of working with high-profile events and managing complex lighting setups.Experience working with diverse teams including artists, venue staff, and freelancers.In-depth knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in lighting design.Proficiency in additional software tools related to lighting design and production management.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and address potential issues proactively.Previous experience directing a lighting department or leading a team in a warehouse setting.
