GENERAL SUMMARY & PURPOSE

Join our team and make a difference by providing litter control and street maintenance services for the citizens of Fate!
This position is responsible for ensuring City streets, property and rights of way (ROW) are free from litter and debris.
The position assists with street repair and maintenance tasks including repair of the City's roadways, parking lots, curbs, gutters, sidewalks and drainage facilities.
Position also identifies areas needing repairs and may perform demolition, patching and overlaying, crack sealing of asphalt, back filling trenches and excavations.

Walks and/or drives vehicle to assigned route and picks up litter/debris.
Removes debris caused from extreme weather conditions by cleaning debris such as fallen tree limbs from inlets, curbs and gutters.
Checks for hazardous materials and ensures the appropriate disposal, if present.
Disposes of litter and debris appropriately.
Loads and unloads supplies (i.e., trash bags, trash grabber,).
Operates equipment to maintain right-of-way and storm drainage as well as to perform general repairs.
Assists with street maintenance and repair duties such as replacing street signs, performing crack sealing, preventative maintenance on drainage easements and other duties as assigned.
Performs proper maintenance of department equipment Performs preventative maintenance on all city owned drainage easements throughout the city Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or GED Experience: None; however, one (1) year experience performing manual labor preferred.
Experience operating light equipment preferred.
Possession of a valid Texas driver's license A combination of education, training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered City of Fate Employee Benefits
