We are seeking enthusiastic caregivers who are willing to live with and provide care to an individual who needs support living on his own. Host Home Caregivers share homes and lives with individuals with Developmental Disabilities (IDD). As a Live-In Caregiver, you move into the client's home and provide them support and ongoing daily care. You can help someone who has some everyday challenges and make a difference in his life. ABOUT THE INDIVIDUAL:
He is a 25-year-old man with IDD. He has his own townhouse in Berthoud and his family is looking for someone to move in with him. Duties include: assisting with meal prep, taking care of the house, and laundry, helping prepare for work, maintaining personal hygiene, and taking care of personal care of belongings. You would also help him manage his diabetes and medications.
TO QUALIFY FOR THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY Prefer experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilitiesShould have a High school or equivalent education (Required)Must have a valid Driver's LicenseMust complete training for Medication Administration, CPR/First Aid and maintain ongoing training as deemed necessaryExperience with diabetes is a plusCompanions must be willing to be onboarded by Support, Inc and pass the basic requirementsThe above includes completing a full application and passing background and reference checksThe dedicated family and current providers will assist with his person-specific training. This young man will be included in each step of this interview and training process. Caregiver's Duties and Responsibilities: Give reminders for personal hygienePrepare nutritious meals and help the individual learn to cookProvide a variety of recreational activities to enhance social developmentInclude the client as though he were family, in life and activitiesAccompany the client to supermarkets, museums, parks, dances, recreation centers, Special Olympics, outdoor activities, etc.Provide transportation as neededAssist with medical care, including managing and supporting with all aspects of his diabetes, keeping appointments, and administering medicationsProvide documentation of progress notes and medical recordsProvide training on life learning skillsTHIS POSITION PROVIDES: Rewarding independent workPaid initial and ongoing trainingAssistance in finding Respite and home care Aid(s)Ongoing support and assistanceClient programming and eventsAnd much more!Support Inc. is a private community services agency.
