*FLSA Classification:* Exempt*Job Summary*The truck driver position is expected to work as a valued member of the shipping and receiving operations. This job will primarily consist of local vehicle operations involving positioning and moving trucks, trailers, and roll-off containers on and between manufacturing or retail and distribution centers. Truck drivers will be expected to cross-train and have the capability to use some or all of the following equipment depending on business demands: van trailers, end dump trailers, walking floor trailers, roll-off trailers and roll-off straight trucks. On occasion, the deliveries will be required throughout the region.*Responsibilities / Duties *Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.* Operate company owned and leased trucks over 4 tons to facilitate shipping and receiving operations.* Operate trucks for delivery, pickup and relocation of products and materials.* Perform required before-, during- and after-operation "user maintenance" and provide required reports.* Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.* Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs.* Maintain and protect all property in excellent condition by inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and performing preventative maintenance, using load tarp and diaper.* Report defects, accidents or violations and complete required paperwork by deadline.* Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.* Collect and verify delivery instructions.* Performs other related duties as required and assigned.*Secondary Responsibilities / Duties** Ability to take necessary steps to ensure a safe work environment for all employees.* Actively role model all company policies and procedures.* Establish and maintain effective relationships with Clients, Operations, Managers, Supervisors and employees.* Ability to implement and follow through with Standard Operating Procedures for recycling programs.* Other duties as assigned.*Critical Competencies** Technical Capacity.* Customer/Client Focus.* Ethical Conduct.* Time Management.*Qualifications / Other Requirements** 2+ years of truck driving experience (required)* Ability to work a flexible schedule that may require varying start/stop times.* Ability to provide or secure reliable transportation to and from work.* Adaptability and the ability to run lanes that change routinely based on customer needs.* Capacity to communicate with dispatch, clients, and on-site personnel in a professional manner.* Demonstrated ability to work independently with attention to detail and organizational abilities.* Superior analytical/problem solving, written and verbal communications.*Education / Certification** High school diploma or GED* CDL license class A*Physical Demands / Work Environment*This position is performed in outside weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
