Shift Timings: 7:00-19:30 Monday to friday
Roles & Responsibilities Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis. Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment.
Monitor, record and communicate patient condition.
Perform advanced respiratory care modalities. Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes. Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and other available programs. Assist with care, calibration and maintenance of all equipment.
Participate in maintaining departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment.
Process equipment per established cleaning/sterilization procedures. Respond to emergency resuscitation team calls. Minimum Qualifications Respiratory care practitioner, must have level 3 NICU experience Must have experience with intubating Must be comfortable attending high risk deliveries and being responsible for taking the lead in evaluation newborn according to NRP. Experience with running ABG's. QUALIFICATIONS BLS and ACLS National Institutes of Health (NIH) Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. The ability to stand for extended periods. Strong technical skills. Knowledge of medical terminology Passionate about patient care Requires a minimum of two years of Respiratory Therapist experience. Graduate from a fully accredited Respiratory Therapist program Active unencumbered Respiratory Therapist California state license One year of Epic experience Requirements COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster. SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills. Participates in relevant continuing education programs. Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients. Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise. A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
