Specific assignment details may vary based on the healthcare facility, patient population and/or the type of cardiology practiced.General Job Responsibilities:Provide comprehensive cardiac care to patients in various inpatient and outpatient settings.Perform diagnostic procedures such as electrocardiograms (EKGs), echocardiograms, and stress tests.Interpret diagnostic tests and develop treatment plans for various cardiovascular conditions.Perform cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures (depending on the cardiologist's subspecialty).Educate and counsel patients on heart disease prevention, risk factors and healthy lifestyle choices.Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals (nurses, surgeons, specialists) to ensure coordinated patient care.Maintain accurate and complete medical records for all patients.Stay current on the latest advancements in cardiology through continuing education.
