We are seeking a board-certified Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens assignment near Emory, Texas. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide vital care while enjoying the flexibility of a temporary role.
Start Date: February 14, 2025Duration: Ongoing with two-week blocks of Thursday-to-Thursday coverage.Practice Setting: Inpatient only, with 24/7 coverage and on-call responsibilities.Patient Volume: Average of 20–30 patients on the service.Support: Advanced Practice Providers (APP) available for day shift hours; no call for APPs.Hospital Capabilities: Level 1 Trauma Center with 385 licensed beds.Requirements: Board Certification: Must be certified in Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology.Licensing: Active Texas license or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).Certifications: ACLS and BLS are required.Fellowship: Completion of a Gastroenterology fellowship is necessary.Skills:Proficiency in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.Advanced procedures, including ERCP, PEG placement, and esophageal manometry.Expertise in upper and lower GI endoscopy, including biopsies, polyp excisions, and liver biopsies.On-call responsibilities include a response time of 30 minutes.Approximately 20% callback rate.Additional Information: Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Epic.Temporary Privileges: Available to expedite onboarding.Travel and Lodging: Covered by the hiring organization.Why Consider This Role?
