Position Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing and optimizing the daily logistics of transportation operations.
This role ensures that goods are efficiently and safely moved from origin to destination, coordinating with drivers, vendors, customers, and internal teams to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements.
The Logistics Coordinator monitors shipment statuses, resolves any transportation issues, and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Additionally, this role involves maintaining accurate transportation records, optimizing routes for cost and time efficiency, and supporting overall supply chain operations.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Arrange transportation for shipments, considering factors such as cost, transit time, and mode of transport.
Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and inter-state or intra-state haulage companies to schedule pickups and deliveries as and when required.
Organize and manage inventory, storge, and transportation workflow schedules to meet customer requirements.
Track, trace, and update the status of shipments.
Offer regular and ad-hoc reporting on shipment statuses.
Facilitate communication with customers, vendors, and internal departments that may include verbal, telephonic, or electronic communication.
Understand how to professionally gain information from all levels of internal and external customers.
Anticipate and proactively approach bottlenecks in the shipping and receiving processes and work for solutions timely.
Respond to and follow up with all inquiries for vendors and customers.
Address and resolve transportation-related issues, such as delays, routing challenges, or equipment failures, to ensure uninterrupted delivery and customer satisfaction.
Utilize computer systems and transportation management software to track shipments, manage schedules, accomplish storage organization, and generate reports for efficient logistics operations.
Analyze transportation performance data and provide recommendations for continuous improvement in logistics operations.
Prepare bills, invoices, and review purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy.
Complete other duties as assigned and necessary.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education): High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or a related field preferred.
Proven experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse, or transportation operations.
Supply Chain certification(s) are a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; can prioritize and manage own time and the time of others to maximize efficiencies.
Strong computer skills using Windows operating system and MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
with proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), Customer Relations Management (CRM) software, and other relevant software applications.
Familiarity with warehousing/storage, and supply chain management principles and practices.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and able to build and maintain positive relations.
Demonstrated self-management and self-direction skills; is highly organized and possess problem-solving skills.
Current knowledge of Department of Transportation, International Air Transport Association regulations preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

The Logistics Coordinator will work in both indoor, climate-controlled, and outdoor environments with exposure to inclement weather and uneven terrain.
Outdoor activities will require General Physical Activities that necessitate frequent use of arms, legs, and moving the entire body; will climb, crouch/stoop, bend or balance as needed, and will include handling, positioning, or moving items with hands and arms; occasional lifting and moving objects of varying weights or shapes.
Indoor work will require frequent use of hands, arms, and manual dexterity; extended time working in a seated position may be necessary.
Frequent use of the senses involving sight, sound, and touch.
