Role ProfileThe Logistics Specialist is responsible for operational execution, continuous improvement, and business support for a certain logistics mode, business, or region through Eastman systems and third-party logistics service providers.
The specialist can execute SAP related activities on order/shipment level and can execute first-line troubleshooting. The role ensures smooth operations, provides business updates as appropriate on progress, and supports procurement exercises to change logistics material flows.
The Logistics Specialist acts as an escalation point for Customer Service and Business Supply Chain and drives issues to their conclusion. Conducts follow-up on customer complaints and non-conformances. May lead logistics or supply chain projects.
Responsibilities• Manages one or multiple external logistics service providers.
• Operationally responsible for an assigned Logistics mode on an order, shipment, or location level and represents that flow in BU focused tactical reviews.
• Manages and improves Logistics Service Providers performance and internal Logistics processes on a routine basis.
• Expert in operational execution in SAP, as well as first-line troubleshooting and understands the integration needed to have third-party vendors successfully operate. Custodian for SAP accuracy on the order-level.
• Acts as a central coordination point for a BU to access Logistics and can make decisions in accordance.
• Manages the NC and complaint system.
• Represents logistics in WWCAR and IBP/TBP platforms.
• Diagnoses trends, identifies improvement opportunities, and implements solutions in coordination with stakeholders.
• Manages supplier scorecards and standard operating procedures, and ensures corrective actions are implemented where improvements are necessary.
• Evaluates service with an understanding of the impacts of costs to businesses and offers options to improve performance.
• As appropriate, supports Procurement in Tender implementation and supports strategic sourcing plans.
• Serves as key participant in the escalation chain for resolution of logistics issues.
• May lead Logistics/Supply Chain project teams.
QualificationsA Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, etc.) and 3-5+ years of relevant work experience is required.
