As a Logistics Lead at Norman International, you will oversee and manage all aspects of our logistics and supply chain activities. You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods, timely deliveries, and maintaining optimal inventory levels. The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day to day cross-docking operations for window covering products. This includes the process of unloading, sorting, palletizing, and ensuring damage-free ship-out.
Supervise all delivery and warehouse personnel, including coaching and instruction in correct processes. Manage unloading of all containers/deliveries, staging for re-distribution, and loading for outbound shipments, including determining delivery method, creating driver logs, and resolving issues with scanning shipments. Manage driver team on delivery days. Communicate with drivers to be aware of any delays or problems they experience, and assist with problem solving. Ensure optimal staffing and scheduling: establish and maintain the warehouse schedule; determine staffing needs including quantity, hours, days of the week and communicate with staffing agency. Approve timecards for the team and manage/approve overtime as needed. Utilize resources and metrics to determine workload volume and help measure team performance; work with management to adjust training as needed. Attend weekly staff meetings; offer suggestions for improvement--whether team, SOP, or technology related--that will increase efficiency for the overall team. Respond to and manage follow-up for incidents or accidents either in the warehouse or in the field. Direct the daily housekeeping and maintenance of warehouse. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by managers. Qualifications:
5+ years experience in managing warehouse and logistics Disciplined with attention to detail Team focused with strong leadership skills Ability to work under pressure of tight deadlines Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations. Forklift certification and experience operating warehouse equipment are preferred. Must have basic math and analytical skills. Must be computer literate, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Bi-Lingual (Spanish), preferred but not required.
