Full-time, permanent opening
Primary outpatient GI service with ER, NICU, PICU and inpatient consultation only. Joining a busy, well-established Pediatric GI practice with full capability of providing both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. Work with an accomplished Pediatric Gastroenterologist in the practice, as well as with other Gastroenterologists within the community. Comprehensive staff including a dedicated office manager, a NP, long-term experienced GI medical assistants, and front staff. Be busy from day one!
Health System: Known for regional superiority in patient care, innovative patient management, extensive clinical research, and prioritizes medical education. Serves patients in Northern Louisiana, through South Arkansas and East Texas. Manages all general gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and nutritional diseases. Full endoscopy services including traditional and advanced endoscopy including ERCP, EUS, and EMR. Large well-staffed outpatient infusion center. Well-established collegial working relationship with all pediatric subspecialties including pediatric surgery, endocrinology, cardiology, allergy-immunology, pulmonology, infectious disease, orthopedics, PICU, NICU, ER, and hospitalist. Strong collaborative pediatric surgery and radiology teams including interventional procedures. GI service supported by available child life, child sedation, dietary/nutrition, and social services. Large patient referral base from the largest physician network in the region comprising of general pediatrician groups and multiple sub-specialists. GI hospital admissions by pediatric hospitalists and intensivists service. Teaching rotating medical students and residents. Clinical research and academic affiliation opportunities. GI on-call schedule with nurse practitioner as 1st call. Well-trained answering service for all after-hour patient calls. Emergency foreign bodies and G-tubes by the pediatric surgery team.
Requirements: BC/BE Pediatric Gastroenterology. Established GI physicians or recent graduates. Spectrum of general GI expertise includes liver disease, IBD, eosinophilic disease, pancreaticobiliary disease, feeding disorders, and nutritional disorders. Additional experience or skill set in GI motility encouraged but not needed. Team player and collegial personality with strong work ethics. Interest in teaching rotating residents and medical students. Interest in clinical and pharmaceutical research. Light shared call.
