Selby Jennings has been engaged by a long-tenured wealth & investment management firm out of Texas to find a Vice President of Portfolio Management for their Dallas, Houston or Denver office. This firm is a diversified financial services firm that offers a broad array of investment solutions to institutional investors, private wealth clients, and financial intermediaries. The firm specializes in several distinct investment capabilities such as: U.S. Value Equity, Multi Asset, Energy & Real Assets, Income Alternatives, Tactical Absolute Return, and Managed Investment Solutions. Candidates with long-only portfolio management experience paired with traditional analytical investment abilities will be prioritized. In this role, you will: Co-manage discretionary investment strategies for the firm's wealth division. Conduct research and implement investment strategies, including asset allocation and risk management. Utilize tax-efficient strategies and manage capital gains. Support Private Wealth Advisors in client communication and meetings. Collaborate with the Wealth CIO on asset allocation insights and investment risk oversight. Act as Portfolio Manager for discretionary wealth strategies, ensuring compliance with client constraints. Monitor market activities, strategy implementation, and portfolio adjustments. Communicate with internal teams about strategies and provide timely updates to Wealth Advisors on relevant news. Conduct independent research and due diligence for investment ideas. Identify buy/sell opportunities using valuation methods. Work within institutional teams to maintain high-quality research outputs. Use third-party resources for sourcing investment ideas. Document and communicate investment processes to the Wealth CIO. Support Wealth Advisors in marketing proprietary strategies to clients. May require occasional travel, primarily within the local area and outside regular hours
