Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the LicensedPractical/Vocational Nurse works in a variety of remote or clinic settings toserve a specific population's health and/or wellness needs.
These variety of sites include but are notlimited to community or employment immunization clinics, wellness clinics, jobsafety and workers compensation sites and travel health clinics from pediatricto geriatric age populations.
The Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse demonstrates theability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner underthe supervision of an RN or Physician.
The Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse demonstrates critical thinkingand performance ability in the coordination of patient care.
Consistently performs according to nursingstandards and is accountable in providing safe, quality patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse utilizesthe nursing process to review plan, implement and evaluate patient care
Evaluates a patient's health status, estimates the level ofhealth risk and informs/provides s feedback to patients to motivate behaviorchange to reduce health risks
Performs health screenings and makes appropriate referralswhen indicated
Performs interventions according to identified priorities,plan of care, and the Clinic policies and patient care outcome standards
Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patientenvironment
Initiates and evaluates patient and/or family education whenappropriate
Documents patient's response to nursing and otherinterventions
Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment andequipment
Knowledge of universal precautions
Knowledge of protocols for adverse reactions, reporting ofincidents and injuries
Knowledge of Workers Compensation assessments and reportingif applicable
Knowledge of Immunization and Vaccine schedules and safety
Administers vaccines or any necessary medications perprotocols
Handles storage and transportation of necessary suppliesincluding vaccines
Appropriately handles and disposes of biological waste
Helps stock and maintain the cleanliness of thesite/location where they are stationed
Helps set up and dismantle clinic sites in varioussettings
Maintains confidentiality at all times
Minimum Requirements:
Current Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse License in statewhere they are practicing
One year experience as an LPN/LVN in a clinic settingpreferred
Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable
Current CPR if applicable
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required
Computer proficiency required
Must be at least 18 years of age

M, W, F: 8:30a-5p
Tu, Thr: 8:30a-7p
5 days a week
No Weekend Rotation - ONLY one Saturday (10a-7p) every 6 weeks
