Description Position: LVN
Location: Temecula
Salary Range: $32.00 - $42.00.
The primary focus of the LVN is to provide professional nursing care, assist healthcare providers, and manage patient flow for exams and procedures, and always protect patient and employee confidentiality.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care.
Prepares rooms for visits and procedures with appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment.
Performs basic nursing procedures including thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, and application of simple dressings, perennial care, and urine tests, Foley catheter insertions, and irrigation.
Prepares, hangs, monitors, and discontinues IV fluids.
Ensures that expired medications are appropriately disposed of.
Responsible for following clinic policies and procedures for handling and disposing of infectious/hazardous wastes.
Monitors medical condition of patients and reports changes to appropriate personnel.
Takes patient's vital signs and provides personal care to patients.
Responsible for accurate administration of medications and collection/handling of lab specimens.
Provides health care instruction to patients and family members.
Ensures accurate maintenance of patients' medical records and handles patient records confidentially.
Documents transactions, telephone conversations, observations, and orders in patient's medical record according to the clinic's policies and procedures.
Arranges for patients ordered diagnostic and therapeutic services.
Telephone reporting of lab results to patients.
Demonstrates a courteous and helpful manner to patients, family members, and co-workers.
Make sure the information given is complete, accurate, and timely.
Return all phone calls the same day they were received – even to let them know you are waiting for additional information, results, etc.
Keep patients informed of any delays in appointment time.
Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department goals and objectives and maintain good employee relations.
Be professional and courteous with physicians, fellow staff, other departments, patients, and others.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent certification required.
California State LVN Licensure and CPR certification required.
Minimum of 6 months of nursing experience required.
1+years of nursing experience preferred.
Competencies & Success Factors Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPPA regulations.
Knowledge of OSHA and Cal-OSHA safety and hazard regulations.
Knowledge of medical insurances.
Experience in providing patient care to newborns, children, adolescents, and adults.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Thorough and organized with patient care and file maintenance.
Ability to maintain a calm manner and patience when working with patients, employees, and physicians.
High level of customer service.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
