If you've ever dreamed of saving lives, join the Army National Guard as a Firefighter and become a warrior on and off the battlefield. No matter the circumstance, you will be called upon to protect lives, and help prevent fires in buildings, aircraft, and aboard ships.
To perform firefighting and rescue operations, you will learn how to operate firefighting equipment and vehicles, administer first aid, and respond to hazardous material emergencies. This includes the operation of pumps, hoses, and extinguishers, entering vehicles and buildings to fight fires and rescue personnel, driving fire and emergency rescue vehicles, and caring for injured personnel. You will also perform fire hazard inspections, teach fire protection procedures, and maintain firefighting equipment. Job Duties

Through your training, you will develop the skills and experience to enjoy a civilian career in a firefighting crew in your community. Additional certifications or licenses may enable you to work as a fire inspector, fire investigator, or fire safety specialist. Earn While You Learn
Instead of paying to learn these skills, get paid to train. In the Army National Guard, you will learn these valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance.
Job training for Firefighters consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Training consists of time in the classroom and work in the field.
