The Video Engineering group at Apple is responsible for creating the image/video core technologies used in almost all Apple products and services.
As a machine learning video engineer, you'll be developing machine learning based technologies for the image and video domain.

DescriptionThis role requires an independent, self-motivated and creative engineer with expertise in machine learning and a good understanding of video or image processing and quality.
Your primary focus will be the application of machine learning techniques to image and video problems to create positive customer impact in current and future Apple products.
In this role, you will work on your own and with other members of the team to prototype the application of deep learning to video processing and demonstrate to XF teams as well as leadership.
You will be working on porting to different platforms and optimizing for memory, power and speed as well as distributing workload across CPU, GPU, Apple Neural Engine and other hardware to develop viable solutions.
You will work in an environment that fosters cross-functional collaboration with several teams across software and hardware to deliver great holistic products.
Minimum QualificationsBS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experienceExcellent fundamentals in machine learningKnowledge of Video or Image Processing or Computer VisionSolid programming skills for common ML frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlowPreferred QualificationsExperience productizing ML modelsPrior experience working on deep learning techniques for video processing/computer vision.Experience with programming on GPUs via APIs Metal/Cuda Open GL or Open CLStrong fundamentals in Computer Architecture and Operating SystemsGood written and oral interpersonal skillsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.
This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
