Machine Shop Apprentice

Title: Machine Shop Apprentice Location: Ashland, VA Rate:  $20-22/hr. (based on experience)  Job Type: Contract to Hire We are looking for a Machine Shop Apprentice, ideally someone fresh out of school and eager to learn the trade. In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience in the following areas:
\n Job ResponsibilitiesLearning: Safety protocols, industry standards, machine tools, blueprints, and customer specifications.Setting Up and Operating Equipment: Working alongside a machinist to set up, operate, and repair machines.Producing Parts: Responsibility for producing parts, troubleshooting, and ensuring parts meet specifications.Developing Skills: Learning algebraic processes, formula manipulation, and using software like CAD/CAM, SurfCam, DraftSight, G-Code, and AutoCAD.Safety Procedures: Following and learning shop safety procedures.Communication: Communicating with manufacturers and team members.
