*Job Summary*
The mission of the Instructor in the Education Department, regardless of curriculum, is to provide the student(s), our customers(s), with the skills and knowledge necessary to obtain entry-level employment in the field of their chosen program of study.
To accomplish this mission, all instructors will utilize their talents, skills, and abilities in a coordinated and consistent team effort under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Education.
The following are essential qualifications, duties and areas of responsibility that each instructor agrees to accept as a condition of employment.
Job duties and responsibilities are not limited to the items listed below.
*Responsibilities and Duties*
A. Classroom/Laboratory Management – the Instructor shall:
1.
Provide students with a complete syllabus containing course objectives on the first day of class.
2.
Exercise firm, fair and consistent class control.
3.
Begin and end class/lab on time and facilitate the effective use of class time.
4.
Maintain consistent performance when dealing with all students with respect to grading, documentation, policies, and discipline.
5.
Provide the Director of Education or his/her designee with regular feedback relative to class and student progress and/or problems.
6.
Provide student with timely information and feedback on his/her academic progress relative to quizzes, tests, homework and projects.
7. Review academic progress with students on a regular basis, well in advance of the end of a course.
8.
Ensure the classroom/laboratory facility is left in a clean and orderly manner upon conclusion of your scheduled session.
9.
Supervise and manage assigned teaching and laboratory assistants.
10.
Contact, via telephone, all absent students as required by the college.
11.
Maintain an overall student attendance rate in accordance with the college's fiscal year attendance goal as measured at the end of the each term/module and annually.
12.
Maintain an overall student retention rate in accordance with the college's fiscal retention goal as measured at the end of each module/term and annually.
B. Instructional Presentation – the Instructor shall:
1.
Present enthusiastic, well-prepared, organized, and clear lectures and classroom activities consistent with the course syllabus.
2.
Provide students with class/laboratory objectives daily.
3.
Present material to meet or exceed all of the approved Course outcomes for the course.
4.
Ensure that examination items are based upon and cover all approved Course Outcomes.
5.
Utilize a variety of learning modalities and support materials to accentuate presentations and facilitate the learning process.
6.
Provide the opportunity for individual tutoring and remediation.
7.
Present "self" as a professional role model at all times.
8.
Inspire student confidence in the company, college, faculty and self.
9.
Relate the material you are presenting to the contemporary workplace.
10.
Continually promote the development and effective use of skills in areas such as critical and analytical thinking, evaluation, communication, computation, problem solving, and decision-making.
C. Laboratory Activities – the Instructor shall:
1.
Assign laboratory activities that coincide with and support the material presented in lecture sessions.
2.
Actively supervise all scheduled laboratory activities and hours.
3.
Ensure students working on appropriate assignments spend time productively.
4.
Provide the opportunity for individual attention.
5.
Provide additional assignments/projects as student progress dictates.
6.
Assist in maintaining a clean lab and equipment in an operable condition.
7.
Conduct initial troubleshooting measures on PCs and lab equipment and promptly label and report all equipment in need of repair.
8.
Provide adequate safety measures for students and security measures for lab equipment.
*Qualifications and Skills*
Must have:
* Have a minimum of 3 years experience as a MRI Technologist
* Active BLS certification
Preferred:
* Experience as a clinical instructor preferred
* ARRT certification
