Job Description: To maintain the hotel's customer and heart of house areas in accordance with company standards by performing preventative maintenance and repairs as necessary. 3PM to 11Pm shift $18 - $20 per hour Essential FunctionsWill handle routine maintenance in public spaces, meeting rooms, outlets, back of the house spaces, and grounds.Maintains rooms in optimal operating condition by performing repairs as neededUnderstands the room preventative maintenance programRepairs televisions, phones, clock radios, etc.Replaces or repairs damaged bathroom fixtures and executes general plumbing as neededMaintains the overall appearance of the room: replaces broken mirrors, hangs fixtures, does touch up painting, etc.Troubleshoots rooms heating/ventilating/air conditioning systemsUses both power and hand tools regularly in a safe, efficient mannerPerforms preventative maintenance throughout other areas of the hotel as well as, including both the front of the house, interior and exteriorMaintains the condition of the hotel lobbies and restaurantsRepairs furniture and decorations as necessaryRepairs carpet, marble and tileRepairs and maintains kitchen and laundry/housekeeping equipmentRepairs/replaces windows and mirrorsMaintains exterior of building and grounds as necessaryMaintains operating equipment in working condition by performing routine equipment checks and repairsMaintains and assists in the cleanliness of individual work areaDemonstrates familiarity with the hotel's safety systems and takes corrective action on any maintenance or operating problems which affect the security or operating condition of the hotelReports any hazards or injuries in the department and takes immediate action to correct.Contributes to hotels preparedness during fire emergencies by participating in the hotel fire teamHandles master keys in accordance with The Moonrise's standards for the overall safety and security of the hotel.Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meeting is required. Supportive Functions:Take every opportunity to amaze the guestsCoordinate activities with other hotel departments in order to facilitate increased levels of communication and guest satisfaction.Assist with necessary repairs and maintenance throughout the hotel.Work with outside contractors as necessary to assist them in performing maintenance or construction jobs.Required Experience:Be an enthusiastic, helpful and positive member of the teamBe professional, responsible and mature in conduct and behaviorBe understanding of, encouraging to and friendly with all co-workersBe self-motivated and use time wiselyMaintain open line of communications with each departmentCommunicate pertinent informationRespond positively to new ideasOpenly accept critical/developmental feedbackReport to work on timeGive adequate notice if going to miss workBe available to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidaysMaintain effective communication through the use of meetings, log books and bulletinsBe available to help other departments in emergency situationsPerform other assignments as directed by direct SupervisorAdhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the company including, but not limited to those contained in the associate handbook.OSHA knowledgeProperly handle and account for keysBe knowledgeable of policies regarding emergency procedures and security concernsSpecific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.Must be self-directed. There is minimal direct supervision.Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.Must possess basic computational ability.Must have a good knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems, maintenance of records of power, water and fuel consumption: knowledge of HVAC strongly preferred Qualifications: High school diploma: technical school degree preferred. One to five years in maintenance required. Hotel experience a plus.
