Maintenance Mechanic Location: On-site, East-Boston, MA
Type: Full time/hourly
Shift: Day shift with some flexibility to work nights and weekends
Pay: $25/hr - flexibility depending on experience
The Mission: The primary mission of this role is to provide technical and repair support to the operations team as it relates to production and processing equipment including but not limited to pumps, valves, air distribution systems, packers, cartoners, fillers and heat exchangers. Day shift with some flexibility to work other shifts and weekends. This position will support the packaging and production lines. The job entails installing and setting up equipment, training operators to use the equipment, maintaining equipment, troubleshooting, and repairing machines. Understand, support and execute all work in a safe manner using the established procedures, methods and safe working requirements. Responsibilities: - Provide technical support in a complex production environment.
- Assist on planning and scheduling predictive, preventive and reactive maintenance activities. Maintain, troubleshoot and perform tasks on all equipment.
- Support all production operators, systems, & tools to achieve all throughput and uptime targets.
- Suggest/Initiate/Support process improvement efforts within the production/packaging and manufacturing operations areas.
- Partner with packaging and production training on developing team members to be able to make minor line adjustments. Provide hands-on training and support.
Qualifications: Must have: - 3 years of hands-on industry maintenance experience or 2 year technical degree
- Strong computer skills required (microsoft/google suite, CMMS)
- Ability to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds on a frequent basis
- Employment contingent upon successful completion of a background check
Nice to have: - Experience with computer networking (routers, Ethernet, switches, etc.)
- Knowledge of the following systems/equipment:
- Process Pumps
- Cartoners/Packers/Palletizers
- Liquid filling equipment
- Chiller equipment
- Compressors
- Minor fabrication
