Maintenance Mechanic II Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, install and repair production and/or facilities machines and equipment in accordance with established manufacturing procedures to achieve efficiency, quality and optimum production objectives. Maintenance Mechanic III This position will assist with analysing, troubleshooting, installing, repairing and performing preventive maintenance on machinery, parts and components and providing facility maintenance both mechanically and electrically
Maintenance Mechanic IV Applies advanced expertise to maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, install and repair complex, specialized machines and equipment in accordance with established manufacturing procedures to achieve efficiency, quality and optimum production objectives. The duties are performed utilizing experience in multiple skilled trades including but not limited to, production and facility machinery and equipment, electronics and electrical, automation and controls, HVAC, plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, energy and utilities, etc. Can install, troubleshoot and repair most or all equipment within the plant.
Day-to-Day Role: Maintenance Mechanic II Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements.  Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards  Follow and commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)  Install, diagnose, analyze, maintain, modify, repair and/or rebuild a variety of plant and facility equipment Repair equipment during mechanical breakdowns or assist other staff in repairs Assist production personnel in change-over and set-ups Dismantle defective machines and equipment to gain access to problem areas or to install new or repaired parts May perform one or more of the following responsibilities within production or facilities maintenance: Communicate with operators to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical or human error contributed to the problems Layout, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.  Assist machinist / fabricators in fabricating parts Follow specification of basic blueprints, manuals and schematic drawings, install, maintain and repair equipment, machinery, physical structures and plumbing/electrical systems. Use tools ranging from common hand tools and power tools, such as hammers, saws, drills and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments, and electrical and electronic devices. Operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT), hoist, crane, and aerial lift Inspect, operate, or test faulty machinery, equipment, programmable controllers, and motors to diagnose machine malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and apply knowledge of the functional operation of machinery Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment to detect and prevent problems to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly and operate efficiently Maintain accurate documentation for assignments, machine repairs, parts inventory, and maintenance logs Learn and use SAP Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Work Order Process, production schedules and reports, HMI control panels and machine controls and settings Prioritize work assignments to ensure efficiency and that production schedules can be met Train other Maintenance Mechanics as required May troubleshoot basic electrical equipment problems such as changing fuses, buttons, and switches Utiltize specific knowledge for a variety of skilled trades, including but not limited to, production and facility machinery and equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pipefitting, carpentry, utilities, etc. Maintenance Mechanic III Understand and comply with OSHA and facility safety procedures including lock-out/tag-out, respirator use, any other safety program required to perform job duties Ensure repairs are completed safely Routinely monitor safety practices and make adjustments when needed to avoid accidents Work with production supervisors so that maintenance work orders are completed safely and on time Use tools ranging from common hand tools and power tools, such as hammers, saws, drills and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments, and electrical and electronic devices Operate PIT, hoist, crane, and aerial lift Inspect, operate, or test faulty machinery, equipment, programmable controllers, and motors, to diagnose machine malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and apply knowledge of the functional operation of machinery Communicate with operators to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical or human error contributed to the problems Diagnose mechanical and/or electrical problems, and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, schematics, manuals and other specifications Repair, replace or adjust defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, machinery or equipment Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment to detect and prevent problems to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly and operate efficiently Provide efficient/timely service of machinery and equipment allowing production schedules to be met Maintain accurate documentation for assignments, machine repairs, parts inventory, and plant maintenance logs Correctly prioritize work assignments Assess and estimate the duration needed to perform maintenance task Provide training to other maintenance personnel Delegate maintenance tasks as needed Other duties within employee's ability as assigned by the supervisor are required and may change due to business necessity Promote good employee relations and high morale Demonstrate teamwork and respect by working process improvement initiatives and/or cross functional team projects Understand precedence relationships (e.g. sequence of events) May perform one or more of the following responsibilities within production or facilities maintenance: Diagnose and repair complex machine and electrical problems, including multiple components on the same production line that are interlinked, assembly mechanisms or automated controls machines  Troubleshoot and analyze control systems to resolve software/ hardware and configuration Communicate with operators to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical or human error contributed to the problems Layout, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.  Assist machinist / fabricators in fabricating parts Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work orders in order to plan, layout and complete work Install, maintain and repair equipment, machinery, physical structures and plumbing/electrical systems. Use tools ranging from common hand tools and power tools, such as hammers, saws, drills and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments, and electrical and electronic devices. Operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT), hoist, crane, and aerial lift Inspect, operate, or test faulty machinery, equipment, programmable controllers, and motors to diagnose machine malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and apply knowledge of the functional operation of machinery Assist production personnel in change-over and set-ups Utilize predictive maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data  Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment to detect and prevent problems to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly and operate efficiently Maintain accurate documentation for assignments, machine repairs, parts inventory, and maintenance logs Understand and use SAP Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Work Order Process, production schedules and reports, HMI control panels and machine controls and settings Prioritize work assignments to ensure efficiency and that production schedules can be met Train other Maintenance Mechanics as required Fill in for Lead Maintenance Mechanic as needed Utiltize specific knowledge within multiple skilled trades including [insert specific areas of responsibility] Core Skills and Qualifications: The ideal candidate must possess all of the following: Maintenance Mechanic II Three (3) years' experience performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair, or comparable experience with trade school or training  Special knowledge in use of hand-tools, power-tools Math skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division Familiar with and ability to convert decimals to fractions or vice versa Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot moderately complex problems including knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance Understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, temperature and pressure gauges Ability to learn and understand manufacturing processes and able to inspect and repair or replace components. Ability to observe, follow, understand, and evaluate processes demonstrated and other workplace procedures Proficient in reading and following basic blueprints, manuals, and mechanic and electrical schematics Experience operating test equipment and/or software Experience operating various hand and power tools Working knowledge of automated controls Ability to operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT), hoists and cranes, and maintain PIT certification Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues Preferred Skills and Qualifications: Paper converting, chemical/plastics processing and/or packaging industrial experience Vocational, Technical or Associate Degree in Machine Tool, Machine Maintenance, Industrial Electrician, Electro-Mechanics, Mechatronics Technology, Automation Controls, Robotics or related field  Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to modify basic reports, documents and spreadsheets in MS Word, and MS Excel Experience in electrical and mechanical trades such as HVAC, PLC, and CNC Maintenance Mechanic III Requires one of the following: Associates degree in Machine Tool, Machine Maintenance, Industrial Electrician, or related field and 5 years work experience performing machinery/equipment maintenance and repair, OR 10 years' equivalent work experience performing machinery/equipment maintenance and repair Five (5) years' experience in performing machine diagnostics Five (5) years' experience in performing preventive maintenance Five (5) years' experience in performing machine repair Five (5) years' experience operating test equipment and/or software Five (5) years' experience working with CNC controls  Three (3) years' experience working with preventive maintenance software Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, manuals and specifications Proficient in operating various hand and power tools Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to modify/create basic reports, documents and spreadsheets in MS Word, and MS Excel High degree of proficiency in electrical and mechanical trades such as HVAC, PLC, and CNC Ability to operate PIT, hoists and cranes Strong organizational and communication skills Maintenance Mechanic IV Seven (7) years' experience performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair, or comparable experience with trade school or training  Expert knowledge in use of hand-tools, power-tools, [insert additional specializations such as machining, electrical, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, welding, HVAC, PLC, CNC, etc] Previous plant production software experience required, SAP experience preferred Ability to perform root cause analysis, compare and investigate information, and recommend and implement resolution Proven analytical problem solver  Ability to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects and priorities  Proficient in interfacing with computers Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines Ability to utilize and train employees on technology, processes and procedures Math skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division Familiar with and ability to convert decimals to fractions or vice versa Expert mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot complex problems including knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance Expert knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, temperature and pressure gauges Understand manufacturing processes and able to inspect and repair or replace components.
