The main purpose of this role is to provide a cost-effective maintenance and reliability service on site while promoting an environment that achieves incident-free performance through diligent and proactive safety efforts and job safety planning.
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for ensuring the safe maintenance of plant and equipment in line within internal and regulatory requirements (site and corporate policies/procedures).Actively manages the area work order backlog as prioritized by the Area Gatekeeper/Specialist ensuring that work orders are being properly reviewed, prioritized, and completed timely.Reviews all work orders for completeness, coding, and validate priority.Assist Scheduler and Area Gatekeeper/Specialist with maintenance schedule planning. Key participant in the Area Maintenance Team to develop a prioritized schedule to efficiently utilize the Maintenance crews to manage the backlog and complete Safety Work Orders and PM work.Identify Job Tasks, Durations, WI's, Special tools & Equipment, Skill requirements, and Materials needed for the work. Estimate labor requirements for the work.Secure all non-stock materials through warehouse or direct purchase; verify inventoried parts are on hand before scheduling routine work.Coordinate work with outside contractors for special services (Maintenance Execution Manager oversees execution).Prepare the Annual Shutdown work on each process unit in the areas of responsibility. This includes all planning, coordination of internal and external resources, key materials, and managing and developing the Shut Down plan. Research SAP and Maintenance records to identify all Shut Down Work related to process units. Review work lists with Engineering and Production to establish Scope of each Shut Down.Work with Operations and Reliability Team to develop repair solutions that provide permanent repairs and that improve overall reliability.Work with Area Gatekeeper/Specialist and Maintenance/Reliability Engineer to develop new and update existing Job plans, Task lists, and BOM's. Review and modify these items as necessary to improve efficiencies and optimize resources.Work with Maintenance Warehouse and Reliability Team to update or prepare new BOM's (Bill of Materials) for the system.Ensures that approved MOCs are in place when required for any planned work or changes.Maintain accurate record keeping of all maintenance activities. Ensure that all required work order documentation is completed and filed to ensure compliance with EPA, NBIC, PSM, and ISO 9000 requirements.Participate and maintain compliance-related activities including internal and external audits for applicable standards and certifications such as ISO 9001:2015, EFfCI, FSSC 22000, Kosher, Halal, RSPO, ISCC+ and others.QualificationsMinimum of 5 years experience in a chemical industry or other industrial manufacturing.Previous experience in a Maintenance planning role or Maintenance/Construction Management.A broad understanding of chemical plants and processes.Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.EducationAssociate's Degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.Stepan Company does not accept or retain unsolicited resumes or phone calls and/or respond to them or to any third party representing job seekers.
