Position Overview:The Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing and overseeing the maintenance schedule, ensuring that all equipment, machinery, and facilities are serviced and maintained efficiently. The role involves planning, coordinating, and scheduling preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to optimize equipment uptime and reliability while minimizing downtime and costs.
Essential Functions:Assign work orders to technicians based on skill level and job complexity.Ensure that all necessary parts, tools, and equipment are available for scheduled maintenance.Label all spare parts with QR codes and help with spare parts program.Prioritize, plan, schedule and verify completion of work orders.Communicate with the dept managers and supervisors about the job that was completed and validate the job.Develop detailed work plans and schedules for preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance tasks.Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize disruption to production or facility operations.Maintain the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) with accurate and up-to-date data.Liaise with the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of parts and materials.Work with contractors and vendors as needed to support maintenance activities.Communicate work schedules to maintenance teams, supervisors, and other stakeholders.Collaborate with operations teams to schedule maintenance activities during planned downtime or low production periods.Facilitate meetings to review upcoming maintenance work, resource needs, and priorities.Analyze maintenance data and equipment performance to optimize preventive maintenance schedules.Work closely with maintenance teams to identify areas for improvement in maintenance practices.Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance activities.Monitor the effectiveness of maintenance plans and schedules and make adjustments as necessary.Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and minimize maintenance costs.Implement best practices in maintenance planning and execution.Other duties as assigned. Required Skills:Technical Knowledge: Understanding of basic industrial equipment, facilities, and maintenance processes.Planning & Organizational Skills: Ability to plan, prioritize, and schedule tasks effectively.Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills for coordinating with various teams.Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and solve issues related to maintenance scheduling and resources.Computer Skills: Proficiency in CMMS software, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and other planning tools.Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in industrial maintenance. Required Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in engineering.Experience: 3-5 years of experience in maintenance planning or a related role.Experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting is highly desirable.Certifications: Certification in maintenance planning or asset management (such as CMRP or PMP) is a plus.
