Koinonia Family Services is seeking a part-time Maintenance Specialist to work at its Corporate Office in Loomis, CA.
The position would be ideal for a semi-retired individual who wants to do something meaningful with their time and talents by partnering with an organization with a mission to help abused and neglected children.
Your skills and talents will help keep our buildings in good shape where services to youth and families are provided.

Ideally the schedule is 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (negotiable).
The pay for the position is negotiable based on overall qualifications and experience for someone with maintenance experience and handyman skills (light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.
).The Maintenance Specialist opportunity includes:•$20.00 to $27.00 per hour, depending on overall qualifications.•Paid time off•Paid holidays•401k plan with company matchDuties and responsibilities include the following:Performs upkeep and maintenance of several agency-owned local buildings.Includes minor facility upkeep and repair, replacing fluorescent light bulbs, replacing door knobs and locks, replacing ceiling tiles, spot carpet cleaning, clearing clogged drains, light painting, etc.Performs routine maintenance inside building, including changing filters, light bulbs, and monthly fire extinguisher inspection, and keeping things organized.Arranges for routine service to be conducted on HVAC units, water filter units and other equipment.Coordinates the process to obtain bids for specialized work projects.Performs outside grounds maintenance as needed (not covered by the gardening service), including irrigation repair, ensuring proper water drainage, etc.Spot cleans corporate office in between weekly cleanings.This includes removing clutter, checking the bathrooms daily, emptying trash as needed, checking/cleaning kitchens daily after lunch, etc.Cleans and organizes after upstairs training events.This includes putting away tables and chairs, spot vacuuming, emptying trash cans, spot mopping the floor, wiping counters, and cleaning the upstairs bathroom.Assembles desks and other furniture, assists in moving heavy items, moves items to/from garage as needed.Maintains agency vehicles (facilitate oil changes, tune ups, tire changes, etc.
).Performs occasional donation/order pick up/dump runs in agency truck.Periodically takes old equipment, furniture and e-waste to the dump.
Takes old batteries and other electronic waste to an authorized disposal site.Completes semi-annual inspections of assigned facilities and arranges to correct items that are not in compliance.
Uploads related forms to the online database.Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: 2 years' experience as a maintenance specialist/technician and/or handyman preferred.Experience with plumbing, painting, hardware installation, trouble shooting & repairs, electric, and other general maintenance preferred.Experience in HVAC, light carpentry, and appliance repair & troubleshooting preferred.Tools and workshop provided by Koinonia.Physical Requirements:Ability to safely move in and out of a variety of positions including: sitting, standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, and overhead reachingAbility to lift 50 poundsCapable of performing repetitive movementsAbility to stand for long periods of timeAbility to ascend/descend stairsJoin Our Team: Experience a Fulfilling Work Environment at Koinonia Family Services!At Koinonia, we pride ourselves on creating an exceptional organizational culture that focuses on the quality of relationships and values diversity.
