Maintenance Supervisor

A stable, yet growing chemical manufacturer located in the southwestern suburbs of Chicago is seeking a Maintenance supervisor. The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance within a chemical manufacturing facility. The primary responsibility is to prevent interruptions in the manufacturing process due to equipment failure. NOTE: This company has 2 openings. 1 on 2nd shift: 4pm - 12 am and 1 on 3rd shift: 12am - 8 am Here are the key responsibilities and requirements: Responsibilities: Inspect facilities periodically to identify maintenance needs. Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate tasks to technicians. Recruit, supervise, and train maintenance technicians. Hire and supervise tradesmen during installations, repairs, or maintenance (e.g., electricians, plumbers). Inspect and maintain building systems (heating, ventilation, etc.). Contribute to the development of the maintenance budget and ensure compliance. Monitor inventory of materials and equipment. Participate in coordination of projects (e.g., renovations). Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations. Requirements and Skills: Proven experience as a maintenance supervisor or in a similar role. Strong technical knowledge of building systems (electrical, heating, etc.). Familiarity with health and safety practices and regulations. Budgeting and performance management skills. Excellent planning and leadership abilities. Attention to detail. Computer proficiency. High school diploma; a degree from a vocational school is a plus. Professional certifications (e.g., CMRP or HVAC certified) are preferred
