Job Purpose: The Maintenance Supervisor is responsibility for providing direct oversight by leading the maintenance technicians, including work order prioritization, scheduling, reporting, and status upkeep.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Execute a performance-based culture, both team and individual, to assure continuous improvement and alignment with enterprise vision, mission, and objectives. Drive employee engagement, training, and development in the key areas of food safety, employee safety, product quality, and productivity. Provide leadership in measuring, assessing, and enhancing plant equipment capabilities and performance. Ensure that all quality and safety standards, specifications and policies are met, drive continuous equipment improvements, and collaborate with the production team to drive efficiencies. Drive culture based on open/honest dialogue and involvement with all team members that demonstrates the value of their input and engagement in improving performance. Drive a culture of high performance and accountability in employee and product safety as well as other aspects of the business. Maintaining an effective maintenance work order process: Work order requests, preventive maintenance schedules, completed work orders and follow up actions. Source/procure/maintain/control maintenance materials and inventory. Manage Maintenance Purchase Order process. Maintain and organize all machine manual, plant drawings and other critical documents. Monitor facility temperatures daily and follow deficiency protocols. Follow all procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and personal safety requirements outlined in position Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Drive lean principles and concepts throughout the Maintenance Department. Review & prepare all maintenance expense summaries monthly for review by manager Execute preparation of all daily, weekly, monthly reporting. Issue work schedule & resulting status. Manage blade sharpening and other vital periodic programs as needed. Effectively communicate timing, delivery of parts and/or work order progress to internal customers/departments. Education: Associate degree preferred or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment. Bachelor's Degree or Technical School Preferred Work Experience: Minimum 3-7 years manufacturing maintenance experience in a food, consumer packaged goods (CPGs), or related industry required.3-5 years in a plant leadership role supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing Maintenance Technicians; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees. Strong mechanical/controls aptitude required preferably with experience dealing with Ammonia chilling systems, diesel generators, boilers, air compressors, and industrial cooking equipment. Competencies: Adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and resolve problems in a timely manner. Organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor own work for quality. Dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction and requests. Multitask and show flexibility with last minute changes. Must understand and comply with all GMP's and Food Safety requirements. Highly motivated and can handle a high volume of work with accuracy in a fast-changing environment. Flexible with working hours and must be able to work any shift, any hours, weekends, and holidays as required. Work independently and troubleshoot issues as applicable. Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations. Able to focus on solving conflict, remains open to others' ideas and tries new ideas; listens to others without interrupting; keeps emotions under control. Computer skills (Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently; sets goals and objectives; organizes or schedules other people and their tasks.
Physical Requirements :
Work may require moderate lifting of objects up to 50 pounds. Usually required to stand and walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, talk and hear. Ability to withstand varied environmental conditions, such as cold and heat, extreme wet, within closed surroundings Exposure to chemical cleaning solution (with protective gear) Position requires frequent lifting, standing, reaching, climbing, pulling, stooping, bending, and kneeling Maintain constant mental focus and constantly be aware of surroundings Ability to be on feet majority of shift, frequent walking and standing. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather), and to rapid changes in temperature. The employee must be able to tolerate a work environment that contains flour dust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Able to work in extreme temperatures, both heat and cold. Other Requirements Must be able to successfully pass Drug and Alcohol pre-employment and ongoing screening. Valid Drivers' License required. Must have the ability to work a varying schedule which might include shift work (days or nights), weekdays or weekends, and some holidays. Work hours may vary, or change based on departmental requirements. Weekend and holiday availability required Able to communicate, both verbally and in writing, both English and Spanish
