Serán BioScience is searching for a skilled tradesperson to add diverse technical knowledge to the Facilities team in the role of Maintenance Technician II. The priorities of this position are to perform and document highly diversified duties across campus facilities, including cGMP manufacturing, warehouse, and laboratory environments. Responsibilities will be to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility utilities and equipment according to safety, preventive, and productive maintenance procedures. Serán BioScience specializes in bringing the most challenging drug therapies to market through a comprehensive set of drug-development services and GMP manufacturing. Training provided for selected candidate without GMP experience, while candidates with GMP experience are preferred. Those with diverse experience in various trades encouraged to apply to learn more.
\n Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms and documents preventative and productive maintenance on GMP and non-GMP facility systemsPerforms quality checks on equipment regularly to ensure everything is in working orderAssists in on-the-job training of newly hired maintenance techniciansAbility to recognize immediate and potential safety hazards and pursue appropriate actions to report and resolveAbility to execute and control daily and weekly work orders, maintenance tasks, and written reports with limited supervisionRequests, organizes, and maintains tools and equipment used to perform dutiesCoordinates, manages, and supports contractors working on the buildings and supporting equipment Assists the Facilities Manager in daily operations of repair and maintenanceResponsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environmentRoutinely applies knowledge and skills to troubleshoot for optimal outcomePosition could be required to work a varied on-call schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends or other non-routine hours from time to time and in case of emergencyPerforms other related duties as assigned Required Knowledge and SkillsExperience and working knowledge on facility systems including but not limited to HVAC, compressed gases, water systems (i.e. purified water, steam), electrical, and automation/controls plus monitoring Ability to assemble & inspect equipmentAbility to evaluate equipment failure situations and make judgments that lead to a successful plan of actionAbility to follow and understand operation manualsStrong interpersonal skills as well as written and oral communication skillsMust be self-motivatedMust have hands-on and technical skillsMust have an awareness of safety and proper safety behaviorComprehensive knowledge of tools and equipment used on the jobAbility to make decisions, prioritize workload, and respond appropriately to changeProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 8 years of related work experience in building maintenance or related area requiredPreference for those with pharmaceutical / biopharmaceutical industry experience working in an cGMP environment Physical RequirementsPhysically able to work throughout facilitiesProlonged periods of time standing, kneeling, crawling, or climbing laddersRequired to work in settings with extreme cold or heat at various times of yearMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.Must have and maintain valid Oregon Driver's license (ODL), or obtain ODL within 30 days? Must carry and maintain personal vehicle insurance?
